Production Manager
Evesham | Full-time, On-site (5 days per week)
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Production Manager to lead assembly and manufacturing operations at our Evesham site. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering complex capital equipment projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
You will play a key part in driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across the production function.
What You’ll Be Doing
Production Planning & Delivery
- Lead production plans to meet customer delivery schedules and project milestones
- Coordinate complex build schedules for engineered-to-order and configure-to-order products
- Optimise capacity, labour allocation, and workflow for maximum efficiency
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks proactively
Operations & Assembly Leadership
- Oversee assembly of capital equipment in line with engineering specifications
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance
- Drive shop floor excellence (6S, layout optimisation)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Projects
- Introduce flexible manufacturing across new and existing product lines
Quality, Compliance & HSE
- Ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Promote a zero-harm safety culture and conduct risk assessments and audits
- Support regulatory compliance and audit activity
- Own production business continuity planning
Continuous Improvement
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Deliver improvements in productivity, cost efficiency, and lead times
- Eliminate waste and lead improvement initiatives across production
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering to ensure manufacturability and smooth product introduction
- Work with Supply Chain to ensure material availability
- Support Project Managers in delivering complex projects
- Provide performance updates to senior leadership
Budget & Performance Management
- Manage production budgets and operational costs
- Track KPIs including OTD, labour efficiency, OEE, and quality metrics
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leaders, and technicians
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability and improvement
- Manage performance reviews, training, and succession planning
- Ensure appropriate staffing, skills, and capability development
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in a Production/Manufacturing Manager role
- Background in capital equipment, heavy engineering, or complex assembly environments
- Experience with engineered-to-order or project-based manufacturing
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
- Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement expertise
- Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) highly desirable
- Knowledge of industrial safety and regulatory standards
- NEBOSH National General Certificate (desirable)
- Experience with ERP systems (JDE preferred)
