Duties
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks suitable for young children, ensuring balanced diets and appealing presentation
- Follow strict food safety protocols and hygiene standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Assist with meal planning, portioning, and food storage to minimize waste and ensure freshness
- Maintain accurate records of food inventories, dietary restrictions, and meal schedules
- Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs and allergies
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and sanitized regularly
- Support the overall cleanliness of the kitchen area, including dishwashing and waste disposal
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles, preferably within a childcare or educational setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to efficiently manage meal preparation tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and proper sanitation procedures
- Excellent organizational skills for inventory management and meal planning
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and support staff
