Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor specialising in Retrofit & Decarbonisation projects. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing costs, ensuring project budgets are maintained, and supporting sustainable building initiatives. Experience delivering Insulation, Roofing and M&E packages is desirable.
We are flexible on salary expectations but this is highly dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates for retrofit and decarbonisation projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client specifications.
- Monitor project expenditure throughout the lifecycle, implementing cost control measures to prevent overruns.
- Assist in procurement processes, including tendering, analysing bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to establish realistic budgets and financial targets.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify quantities, and ensure work aligns with financial plans.
- Maintain comprehensive records of costs, variations, and contractual changes for reporting purposes.
- Provide advice on value engineering opportunities to optimise project costs without compromising quality or sustainability objectives.
- Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, standards, and environmental regulations related to decarbonisation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on retrofit or decarbonisation projects is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of cost control techniques and financial management within the construction sector.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Good understanding of sustainable building practices and environmental regulations related to decarbonisation.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Relevant qualifications such as RICS accreditation or equivalent are preferred but not essential.
- A proactive approach with attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
