Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to provide holiday cover within our childcare setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and wellbeing of children aged from birth to five years during holiday periods. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for early childhood education and childcare to contribute to a nurturing environment while gaining valuable experience. The role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in working with young children.
Duties
- Support staff to deliver engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children in accordance with early childhood education principles.
- Support children's emotional, social, and physical development through attentive care and interaction.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment that promotes learning and exploration.
- Observe and record children's progress, behaviour, and achievements, providing feedback to colleagues and parents as appropriate.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and team members to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
- Assist with daily routines such as mealtimes, nappy changing, and outdoor play.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and procedures at all times.
- Support management in implementing curriculum plans and activities that meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Early Childhood Education or equivalent are desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and nursery practices.
- Ability to work flexibly during holiday periods, including full days as required.
- A caring attitude, patience, organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment are essential.
