Duties
- Safely operate flatbed trucks and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods across designated routes.
- Load, secure, and unload cargo with attention to safety protocols and proper handling techniques.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems, maps, or route plans to ensure timely deliveries.
- Verify delivery details, obtain signatures, and complete all necessary paperwork accurately.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before each shift.
- Communicate proactively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery schedules or resolve issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior, adhering to company safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with commercial driving background.
- Familiarity with flatbed truck operation and securing various types of cargo.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws, safety regulations, and best practices for commercial driving.
- Prior delivery driver experience demonstrating punctuality, reliability, and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting heavy items and prolonged periods of driving.
