This role will join BGEN - one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the water, power & energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear and food and beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions
What you'll be doing?
This role involves gathering and analysing technical data to identify performance improvement and energy reduction opportunities, producing detailed reports and recommendations. Responsibilities include independently preparing draft technical reports, managing projects when required, and actively participating in client meetings to provide technical expertise and support. The role contributes to the preparation of estimates, proposals, and tenders, while coordinating and attending site visits as needed. Working closely with Optimisation and Systems Integration teams, it supports functional design specifications, factory acceptance testing, site testing, and commissioning activities. The position also helps develop standards, tools, and processes to improve productivity, quality, compliance, and innovation.
What they’ll bring – Key skills, qualifications and experience (no more than 75 words)
- Required minimum 5 years’ experience in optimisation projects within the Municipal Water Industry, from concept to implementation and familiarity with automation
- Good understanding of water and wastewater processes
- Must have a strong knowledge of pump and system curves, to include VSD operation
- Expertise in clean water hydraulic modelling and fluid dynamics
- Ability to design efficient control philosophies
- Must be innovative, be comfortable with the ambiguity associated with preliminary design work and be able to concentrate on 'big picture' issues leaving the filling in of detail until later
