RESPONSIBLE TO: THE PROPRIETOR & GENERAL MANAGER
RESPONSIBLE FOR: THE SPA including ALL THERAPIES; MEMBERSHIP SALES & ADMINISTRATION; RETAIL SALES & RECEPTION
OVERALL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
1. To manage and be responsible for the day to day running of all Spa treatments, membership administration, retail sales and financial accounting.
2. To be responsible for the development and growth of revenue in all sections of the spa business including marketing policies and implementation.
3. To implement and control the high standards in order to maintain a smooth operation and the professional reputation of the spa.
4. To monitor and motivate the staff to create excellent team spirit through regular meetings, training as necessary.
5. To act as duty manager in conjunction with others as necessary.
6. To carry out guest treatments when required.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
I. GENERAL
a) To ensure the comfort, safety and well-being of members, spa clients and staff at all times.
b) To liaise with the proprietor/manager on all aspects of the day-to-day running of the spa.
c) To keep aware of developments and innovations within the industry and to introduce these as appropriate.
d) To develop promotional and marketing opportunities.
e) To liaise with the media and encourage good PR
f) To arrange treatment programmes for journalists and VIPs.
g) To deal effectively and satisfactorily with any guest complaints or problems.
h) To ensure efficient and accurate handling of booking and confirmation procedures.
i) To be willing and able to learn new types of treatments and theories that may be offered to you via official training courses. Some of these courses may be covered by company training contracts.
II. BUSINESS
a) To be responsible for and to monitor all financial transactions.
b) To promote treatment and retail sales, including spa days and gift vouchers.
c) To organise promotional events and special membership days.
d) To develop revenue streams from both treatments and retail sales to match budget forecasts.
e) To analyse sales and treatment revenue.
f) To ensure correct levels of salon and retail stock ordered and invoices processed.
III. OPERATIONS
a) To lead from the front, demonstrating professionalism in appearance, attitude and time keeping.
b) To ensure all guest consultations are carried out effectively, and monitor that staff check treatment suitability and safety at all times.
c) To assess standards of treatments and make improvements as necessary.
d) To ensure all cleaning, hygiene standards and maintenance are carried out satisfactorily.
e) Hold regular staff meetings to ensure all staff fully briefed on any new developments or plans.
f) To ensure Fredrick’s high standards of customer care are maintained and carried out throughout the entire customer journey.
IV. HEALTH & SAFETY
a) To keep up to date with current Health and Safety regulations and to ensure these are implemented.
b) To ensure all the staff are familiar with and practice Health and Safety regulations including fire drills.
c) To ensure all accidents or injuries are recorded with full circumstantial details.
V. STAFF MATTERS
a) To ensure all members of staff are smartly presented with clean uniforms.
b) To ensure that a highly professional attitude is maintained and that Fredrick’s acknowledged high standards of customer care and service are provided at all times.
c) To ensure codes of conduct are upheld and preserved.
d) To help interview potential new staff members and carry out trade tests to assess suitability.
e) To organise staff rotas and co-ordinate training, holiday entitlement and sickness cover etc.
f) To carry out regular appraisals for all staff.
g) To be responsible for handling any disciplinary or grievance procedures.
h) To personally supervise staff service areas, including the laundry and food service areas and delegate cleaning responsibilities on a rota basis.
Finally, to carry out any other reasonable requests or duties as and when required by the Proprietor or General Manager.
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
