Overview
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Repair Technician to join our professional team at our Oldbury branch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their original condition following collisions or damage, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. Duties
- Speaking to customers to gauge what work ought to be done.
- Performing diagnostic assessments to ensure that all issues have been detected, and that the customer is willing to have these remedied.
- Assessing vehicle damage and determining necessary repairs with precision.
- Using hand tools and power tools to remove, repair, or replace damaged panels and components.
- Performing body straightening, sanding, priming, and painting to achieve a flawless finish.
- Conducting heavy lifting of vehicle parts or panels safely and efficiently.
- Ensuring all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Maintaining a clean, organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
- Documenting repair processes accurately for record-keeping purposes.
- Collaborating with team members to complete repairs within designated timeframes.
Experience
- Proven experience in auto body repair or related fields is preferred but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for understanding vehicle systems and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and body repair equipment is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively during various repair tasks.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail are essential to ensure high-quality work.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and adhering to safety protocols is highly valued.
