At Otho Metronik Energy Systems UK, we design, support, and improve reliable energy systems for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure clients across the United Kingdom. Our work covers electrical energy systems, technical testing, equipment performance, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement.
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Manchester team. In this mid level role, you will help ensure that our engineering projects, technical services, and operational processes consistently meet internal standards, customer expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
You will work closely with engineering, operations, procurement, suppliers, and project teams to investigate quality concerns, strengthen procedures, and deliver practical improvements. This role is suitable for someone who combines technical knowledge with a structured and solutions focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management Systems:
Support the maintenance and improvement of quality procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, technical records, and controlled documentation.
Quality Investigations:
Investigate non conformances, customer complaints, equipment issues, process failures, and recurring quality concerns.
Corrective and Preventive Actions:
Develop, implement, and monitor corrective and preventive actions to ensure that identified problems are resolved effectively.
Root Cause Analysis:
Use structured problem solving methods to identify the underlying causes of quality issues and recommend sustainable solutions.
Process Improvement:
Review engineering and operational processes to identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
Internal Audits:
Conduct or support internal audits and help departments prepare for customer, supplier, regulatory, and certification audits.
Supplier Quality:
Work with suppliers and contractors to address quality concerns, review corrective actions, and improve the reliability of supplied equipment and services.
Inspection and Testing:
Support the development of inspection and testing requirements for electrical equipment, components, technical services, and energy system projects.
Quality Reporting:
Monitor quality performance indicators and prepare reports covering trends, risks, audit findings, corrective actions, and improvement priorities.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, project delivery, operations, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure quality requirements are understood and followed.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in quality engineering, energy systems, electrical engineering, manufacturing, technical services, utilities, or a related environment.
Education:
A degree, diploma, apprenticeship, or recognised technical qualification in engineering, quality management, electrical systems, manufacturing, or a related discipline is preferred.
Quality Knowledge:
A practical understanding of quality management systems, internal audits, non conformity management, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
Problem Solving:
Experience using methods such as root cause analysis, five whys, fishbone diagrams, process mapping, or failure mode and effects analysis.
Industry Standards:
Knowledge of ISO 9001 is preferred. Familiarity with electrical safety standards, energy systems, testing, commissioning, or equipment certification would be an advantage.
Technical Ability:
You can understand engineering documentation, inspection records, test results, technical specifications, and quality requirements.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain quality expectations to both technical and non technical colleagues.
Organisation:
You can manage multiple investigations, audit actions, documentation updates, and improvement projects while maintaining accurate records.

Pay: £41,016.00-£44,400.00 per year
