About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate to gain practical experience across geotechnical engineering, contaminated land assessment, and ground investigation.
Working within a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Geologists, and Environmental Scientists, you will support projects from initial site appraisal through to fieldwork, data interpretation, reporting, and client recommendations.
You will receive structured training and mentoring with a clear progression route towards Project Engineer, Consultant, and Chartered status.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and delivery of ground investigations.
- Supervise drilling, trial pitting, sampling, and monitoring works.
- Log soils and rocks in accordance with industry standards.
- Undertake groundwater and ground gas monitoring.
- Process and interpret field and laboratory testing data.
- Prepare factual reports, borehole logs, site plans, and technical drawings.
- Assist with geotechnical and contaminated land assessments and reporting.
- Liaise with contractors, laboratories, regulators, and clients.
What We're Looking For

- Or a related discipline
Essential Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Placement or industry experience.
- Knowledge of ground investigation techniques.
- Understanding of contaminated land assessment.
- Experience using GIS, AutoCAD, HoleBASE, gINT, or similar software.
