Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our construction and renovation team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, with experience in various specialised trades such as roofing, masonry, and mechanical work. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial sites, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety. The successful applicant will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures using a variety of tools and techniques.
Duties
- Constructing and installing timber frameworks, fixtures, and fittings according to project specifications
- Using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to cut, shape, and assemble materials
- Performing welding tasks where necessary to join metal components securely
- Assisting with roofing installations and repairs to ensure weatherproofing and structural integrity
- Applying masonry skills for related tasks such as bricklaying or concrete work when required
- Conducting heavy lifting of materials and components safely during various stages of construction
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and organisational standards
- Collaborating with other tradespeople including electricians, plumbers, and masons to complete projects efficiently
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Joiner or in a similar carpentry role with a diverse skill set
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other relevant machinery
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction processes and materials
- Experience in roofing, masonry, or related trades is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
- Valid driving licence for commercial driving duties if required on site
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to construction sites
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments
