Job Title: Private Home Care Nurse (RGN) - Elderly & Complex Care

Hours: Part-time (1 day per week, 5–6 hours minimum) with potential to increase
Pay Rate: £25–£35 per hour, depending on experience
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and reliable Registered General Nurse (RGN) to provide dedicated one-to-one clinical care for an elderly gentleman in his own home. The client has Type 2 diabetes, dementia, and limited mobility, and is currently undergoing cancer and bowel screenings.
This position starts at one day per week for 5–6 hours, with the potential for hours to increase. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in dementia care and chronic disease management, ensuring the client's safety, comfort, and clinical needs are meticulously met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage Type 2 diabetes, including blood glucose tracking, dietary oversight, and medication administration.
- Provide supportive, patient-centred care tailored to the client's dementia needs, promoting a calm and safe environment.
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to prevent falls and protect skin integrity.
- Coordinate, track, and support the client through ongoing cancer and bowel screening processes, monitoring for symptoms or side effects.
- Maintain precise, up-to-date care logs and communicate effectively with the family, GP, and external medical teams.
Requirements:
- Valid, unrestricted NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration.
- Current Right to Work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check.
- Proven experience managing dementia, Type 2 diabetes, and limited mobility in elderly patients.
- Familiarity with oncology support or navigating NHS screening pathways is highly desirable.
- Outstanding communication skills, patience, and a warm, empathetic nature.
Pay: £25.00-£30.00 per hour
