Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health and Safety Officer to oversee and promote health and safety standards across our organisation. Duties
- Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures tailored to organisational needs.
- Lead investigations into accidents or incidents, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and improvement initiatives.
- Deliver training sessions on health and safety practices, including first aid procedures, to staff members.
- Coordinate emergency response plans and ensure all staff are familiar with evacuation procedures.
- Monitor the effectiveness of safety measures and recommend enhancements where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training sessions, and corrective actions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in health and safety management or a related role.
- Certification in first aid is essential; additional qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are highly desirable.
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues behind incidents or hazards.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with a commitment to fostering a safe working environment.
