Lunchtime School Cleaner (Part-Time)
Location: Wingfield, near Trowbridge, Wiltshire
Please Note: Due to the rural location of the school, access to your own transport is essential.
Pay: £12.85 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 1:00pm – 2:15pm (6.25 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (Term Time Only)
38 weeks per year

Join Our Team
We're looking for a reliable and conscientious Lunchtime School Cleaner to join our team at a welcoming village school in Wingfield, near Trowbridge.
This is a permanent, part-time role working during term time only. You will be responsible for helping to ensure the dining and eating areas are cleaned and prepared for afternoon use, maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment for pupils and staff.
You will work independently to complete your allocated duties, including cleaning the dining and eating areas, washing cooking utensils, metal trays, tubs and other catering equipment, loading and unloading the dishwasher and washing machine where required, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout your designated areas.
We're looking for someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work and enjoys working in a school environment. Full induction, training and ongoing support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Clear and clean dining and eating areas after lunchtime.
- Wipe and sanitise tables and eating surfaces.
- Sweep and mop floors as required.
- Wash cooking utensils, metal trays, tubs and other catering equipment.
- Load and unload the dishwasher where required.
- Load and unload the washing machine where required.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Assist with moving and storing tables and benches twice each week.
- Replenish consumables where required.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 1:00pm – 2:15pm
- 6.25 contracted hours per week
- Term Time Only
Pay
- £12.85 per hour.
- Permanent part-time contract.
- Pay is calculated on a pro rata basis and paid evenly throughout the year.
What We're Looking For
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and use your initiative.
- High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Friendly, professional and respectful when working within a school environment.
- Ability to undertake light manual handling duties, including moving tables and benches twice each week.
- Willingness to learn and follow cleaning procedures and safe systems of work.
Full induction and training will be provided.
