Job Role: Functional Skills Level 2 Trainer / IQA
We are seeking an experienced Functional Skills Level 2 Trainer / Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to support our organisation during an upcoming NCFE External Quality Assurance (EQA) visit.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct internal quality assurance (IQA) of Functional Skills Level 2 learner portfolios in English and Maths to ensure they meet NCFE standards.
- Review learner evidence, assessment decisions, and portfolio documentation to identify any gaps and ensure compliance.
- Work closely with trainers and assessors to rectify any quality issues prior to the NCFE visit.
- Ensure all assessment and IQA records are accurate, complete, and fully compliant with awarding organisation requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to the delivery team on best practice in Functional Skills assessment and quality assurance.
- Be available during the NCFE EQA visit to support the centre, answer quality assurance queries, and provide evidence of internal quality processes where required.
- Assist with any actions arising from the EQA visit and support continuous quality improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised Functional Skills qualification(s) in English and/or Maths.
- Experience delivering and assessing Functional Skills Level 2.
- Hold a recognised IQA qualification (e.g. Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice) or have substantial IQA experience.
- Previous experience working with NCFE standards and quality assurance requirements.
- Strong understanding of Functional Skills assessment, portfolio requirements, and awarding organisation compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
This is a short-term role to ensure the centre is fully prepared for the upcoming NCFE quality assurance visit and maintains the highest standards of compliance and learner achievement.
Pay: Up to £16.00 per hour
