Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled VNA Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) forklifts to efficiently handle materials within our warehouse environment. This role requires a focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency to support seamless warehouse operations. The position offers an opportunity to utilise mechanical knowledge and warehouse experience in a dynamic setting, contributing to the organisation’s supply chain success.
Duties
- Operate VNA forklifts safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse.
- You will also need to be prepared to support other areas of the warehouse including picking and packing
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking and storage according to safety standards.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including verifying documentation and ensuring accurate inventory movement.
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately.
- Perform basic equipment repairs or report maintenance issues promptly to minimise downtime.
- Conduct routine safety checks on forklift equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with materials handling tasks such as loading and unloading lorries, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety procedures are followed.
Experience
- Proven experience operating VNA forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems is desirable.
- Familiarity with equipment repair and mechanical troubleshooting is advantageous.
- Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, and forklift operation is essential.
- Warehouse experience involving load & unload activities is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with basic maths skills will be beneficial for accurate inventory management.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks.
