Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager to lead our organisation’s commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. We are a mechanical services contractor based in Lutterworth but largley operating in central London. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing policies that promote a safe working environment while ensuring adherence to legal and industry standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a significant impact within a dynamic organisation committed to excellence. Our Current QHSE manager is retiring and would be working alongside as a hand over.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive QHSE policies and procedures aligned with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and audit findings for senior management review.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, including first aid procedures and training programmes for staff.
- Organise training sessions on health and safety protocols, risk management, and emergency procedures.
- Monitor environmental impact measures and ensure sustainable practices are followed across operations.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness throughout the organisation through communication campaigns and engagement initiatives.
- Lead and manage QHSE and regulatory compliance
- Manage ISO systems including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 including audit schedules
- Manage existing regulators and certification bodies applicable to our trade including Gas safe, refcom, Safe Contractor, Chas
- Manage Training schedules for in house installation staff.
- Lead internal and external audits and certification programmes.
- Production of RAMS to suit site specifics and client requirements.
- Manage audit schedules, corrective actions, and compliance registers
- Strengthen health & safety practices within heavy machinery and production environments
- Manage weekly reporting from installation sites & associated H&S reports
- Develop and update policies, SOPs, and compliance procedures
- Liaise with regulators and certification bodies
Requirements
- Experience in QHSE / Compliance
- working knowledge of ISO 9001
- ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 experience highly desirable
- NEBOSH qualification strongly preferred although training can be provided.
- Confident leading audits and certification processes
- Strong communicator
- Comfortable working cross-functionally
- Able to travel between sites.
- Someone who wants ownership and the freedom to improve systems
Pay: £28,673.40-£59,459.81 per year
