Overview
We are seeking new plasterers requiring guidance with our experienced plasterers and we also are looking for experienced skilled and dedicated Plasterers to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. for new plasterers a mentor will be allocated. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse building projects, contributing to the realisation of durable and aesthetically pleasing structures. The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in masonry and related trades, with proficiency in various hand and power tools.
Duties
- Applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with precision and attention to detail
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or removing old coatings prior to plaster application
- Mixing plaster materials to the correct consistency using specialised tools
- Using hand tools such as trowels, hawks, and floats to achieve smooth finishes
- Operating power tools safely for mixing, cutting, or shaping materials
- Assisting with bricklaying and masonry tasks as required on site
- Performing minor carpentry tasks related to plastering work, including framing or repairs
- Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and building regulations
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment throughout each project phase
- Collaborating with team members including masons, carpenters, roofers, and welders for integrated project delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience in plastering
- willingness to build upon existing skills for new plasterers
- Proficiency in using hand tools including trowels & Hawk to pick up plaster and apply
- Experience operating power tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of masonry techniques and materials used in plastering applications
- Ability to perform basic carpentry tasks when necessary or willing to learn for new plasterers
- Physical fitness to carry out manual labour over extended periods and lift heavy materials when required, plaster bags etc
- Strong attention to detail with organisational skills to ensure high-quality finishes
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
