Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our caring team. In this vital role, you will support the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring that kitchen areas meet high standards of hygiene and organization. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help us deliver exceptional care and service to our residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist in basic food preparation tasks to support chefs and kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, utensils, and equipment
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools efficiently and safely
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies in accordance with health standards
- Support with waste disposal and recycling processes to keep the kitchen tidy
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to maintain a hygienic environment
- Help with setting up dining areas and assisting serving staff as needed
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential
- Familiarity with food preparation or kitchen duties is advantageous
- Experience in hotel or care home settings can be beneficial
- A positive attitude towards teamwork and supporting others in a busy environment
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary support and hospitality standards
