Care & Support Workers – Waking Nights
Average of 2-3 nights per week

£13.05 per hour
*£80 per sleep in (*if applicable)
*Additional hours may be available on a cover basis and include some weekend work
We are seeking a caring, reliable and proactive person to join our friendly team in the Plymouth area.
This role will predominately involve supporting two Autistic gentlemen, living in their own homes in Plymouth, one of whom also has epilepsy and requires a high level of monitoring overnight.
This waking night role will cover an average of 2-3 nights per week (mainly between 9pm and 8am, but hours may vary to meet specific needs).
The role may also include sleep in duties depending on the needs of the individual. Additional daytime cover may be available in addition to the waking nights.
Ideally, you will have experience supporting people with learning disabilities, epilepsy and autism, along with a positive attitude, a natural ability to build relationships and a genuine desire to help people live their best lives. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
Waking Night duties will include:
- Providing responsive and person-centred physical and emotional support to the person, as and when required
- Closely monitoring and recording any epileptic activity and providing assistance as required in line with seizure protocols
- Completing detailed records as directed
- Providing personal care assistance as required / directed in the person’s Care and Support Plan
- Encouraging regular sleep patterns or night activities in accordance with the person’s Care and Support Plan
- Ensuring medical needs are met as required
- Ensuring the safety of the person supported by providing supervision, support and intervention as required and as directed in the support plan
- Completing household tasks as set out in the Support Plan / Daily Operational File
- Completing nightly report forms and other documentation as directed
