GMC Registered Doctor – Medical Director & Aesthetics Educator

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic GMC registered doctor to join our aesthetics education team as our Medical Director and Aesthetics Educator.
This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor with experience and a genuine interest in aesthetic medicine to become involved in the education and development of aesthetic practitioners.
The role will include a regular teaching commitment of one day per month, from 10:00am–3:00pm, primarily focusing on facial anatomy and physiology, complication prevention, recognition and management within aesthetic practice.
Alongside teaching, the successful candidate will act as Medical Director, providing medical oversight and supporting the organisation with appropriate clinical and medicines governance.
Key ResponsibilitiesEducation & Training
- Deliver face-to-face teaching approximately one day per month from 10:00am–3:00pm
- Teach detailed facial anatomy and physiology relevant to aesthetic practice
- Teach the prevention, recognition and management of aesthetic complications
- Support practitioners to understand anatomical danger zones and safe injection principles
- Discuss complications associated with botulinum toxin, dermal fillers and other aesthetic treatments
- Use clinical experience, case discussions and evidence-based practice to enhance delegate learning
- Contribute to the development and review of educational materials where appropriate
- Support a high-quality learning experience for delegates undertaking aesthetic qualifications and training
Medical Director & Clinical Governance
- Act as Medical Director for the organisation
- Provide medical oversight and professional guidance in relation to aesthetic practice
- Support the development and review of clinical policies, protocols and procedures
- Provide medical input into the safe management of complications and clinical incidents
- Support clinical governance, patient safety and escalation processes
- Provide oversight and guidance relating to the safe and appropriate use of medicines within the organisation
- Support the development and review of medicines management policies and procedures
- Help ensure appropriate systems are in place for the storage, handling, administration and governance of medicines
- Promote evidence-based practice and high standards of patient safety
Essential Requirements
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Experience working within aesthetic medicine
- Strong knowledge of facial anatomy and physiology
- Experience with botulinum toxin and dermal filler treatments
- Excellent understanding of aesthetic complications, including their prevention, recognition and management
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Commitment to patient safety, clinical governance and evidence-based practice
- Confidence teaching and supporting healthcare professionals and aesthetic practitioners
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience teaching or training healthcare professionals
- Formal teaching or education qualification
- Experience in a Medical Director, clinical lead or governance role
- Advanced training in aesthetic complications
- Experience developing clinical policies, protocols or educational resources
