Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Room Supervisor for our Children's Nursery in Fulford, York, to lead and oversee daily operations within the nursery environment. This vital role involves managing a team of childcare professionals, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating setting for young children. As a Room Supervisor, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality early childhood education, fostering positive relationships with children and their families, and maintaining compliance with all childcare standards and regulations. Duties
- Supervise daily activities within the nursery room, ensuring they are engaging, educational, and age-appropriate
- Lead, motivate, and manage nursery staff to deliver exceptional childcare services while promoting teamwork and professional development
- Oversee the implementation of early childhood education programs aligned with best practices and curriculum standards
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to provide updates on children's progress and address any concerns promptly
- Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure the nursery environment complies with all legal requirements and company policies
- Support staff in managing behavior positively, encouraging social skills, independence, and emotional development among children
Qualifications
- Proven management or leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Extensive experience working directly with children in early childhood education or childcare roles
- Strong knowledge of nursery practices, child development principles, and relevant regulations
- Excellent communication skills in English to interact confidently with children, parents, and team members
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a nurturing environment
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent kand above is required
