Job Summary
The Ark Nursery & Pre-school is seeking an experienced and dedicated Day Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring high standards of childcare, and creating a safe, nurturing environment for children. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a passion for early childhood education. The Nursery Manager will play a vital role in fostering a positive atmosphere that supports children's development and families' needs.
Duties
- Lead and manage the nursery team, including recruitment, training, and performance appraisals
- Develop and implement educational programmes aligned with early childhood development standards
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding their child's progress and nursery activities
- Organise daily routines to promote a stimulating and caring environment for children
- Oversee administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and resource management
- Promote continuous improvement through staff development programmes and feedback mechanisms
- Drive the nursery’s growth by maintaining high standards of childcare and customer satisfaction
Experience
- Proven management experience within a nursery or childcare setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff teams
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
- Experience working directly with children across various age groups
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Valid driving licence is desirable for operational flexibility
- Previous nursery experience is essential to ensure familiarity with industry standards and best practices

Pay: £16.50-£17.00 per hour
