Clover Transport Ltd is looking for reliable and professional HGV Class 1 Tramper Drivers to join our growing transport team based in Darlington.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers who are looking for stable, well-organised tramper work with brand-new trucks, planned routes and no loading or unloading.
Each driver will be allocated their own brand-new truck, giving you a clean, modern and comfortable vehicle to work with, take pride in and look after as your own.
The role involves transporting goods between RDCs as part of a large-scale middle-mile operation for one of the world’s largest online retailers. The work is focused on depot-to-depot trunking across the UK, with clear instructions, structured routes and modern route-management technology.
The work may include both day and night shifts, depending on operational requirements.

The role
As an HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and professionally between RDCs, depots and customer sites across the UK.
Your duties will include:
Driving HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly
Transporting goods from site to site
Completing daily vehicle checks
Reporting any vehicle defects
Following drivers’ hours and working time regulations
Keeping good communication with the transport team
Using route-management technology for trip information
Taking care of your allocated truck and trailer
Keeping your vehicle clean, tidy and professional
Representing Clover Transport Ltd in a professional manner
No loading or unloading is expected as part of this role.
Requirements
Valid C+E / Class 1 Driving Licence
Valid Driver CPC
Valid Digital Tachograph Card
Minimum 1 year’s commercial driving experience
Less than 6 penalty points preferred
Right to work in the UK
Basic level of English preferred
Reliable, professional and safety-focused attitude
Must be comfortable with overnight stays and extended trips
