Job Summary
At Kawa House, we pride ourselves on fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We're looking for an enthusiastic, coffee-savvy social butterfly to join our close-knit, lively team!! Your role will consist of taking orders, making and serving drinks, and maintaining order in the cafe so that the environment remains clean and cozy. The ideal candidate should be well versed with basic maths when it comes to taking payments, and should be well-acquainted with food and drink theory. Though barista experience is preferable, if you are not super comfortable operating a coffee machine but have some understanding you’ll be up to scratch with our help.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including workstations and customer seating.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of all products served.
- Handle cash transactions efficiently while maintaining accurate records of sales.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Experience
- Previous experience in a café or food service environment is preferred but not essential.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and managing orders effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety standards is an advantage.
- A passion for coffee and customer service will set you apart as an ideal candidate.
