Job Overview
This is a varied role combining care staff recruitment, onboarding and training, with responsibility for supporting new employees from initial application through to induction, training, competency assessment and becoming ready to work.
We are looking for someone who is a qualified trainer and has a good understanding of the adult social care sector. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring our care staff are recruited safely, trained to a high standard and remain compliant throughout their employment.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Development
- Deliver engaging face-to-face induction and mandatory training to care staff.
- Conduct practical competency assessments and ensure staff are competent before undertaking relevant duties.
- Deliver refresher training and identify additional training needs.
- Maintain accurate staff training records and the company training matrix.
- Monitor training expiry dates and ensure refresher training is completed within required timescales.
- Support staff development through additional training, coaching and competency assessments.
- Maintain appropriate evidence and training records for CQC and internal quality audits.
- Work closely with the Registered Manager and wider management team to identify areas where additional staff training is required.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage the recruitment process for care workers from application through to successful onboarding.
- Advertise vacancies and actively source suitable candidates.
- Screen applications and conduct candidate interviews.
- Support safer recruitment processes, including references, DBS checks, Right to Work and employment documentation.
- Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
- Coordinate new starter induction and training.
- Work with the management and care coordination teams to understand ongoing recruitment requirements.
- Support initiatives to improve staff recruitment and retention.
- Ensure recruitment records are accurate, complete and compliant with CQC and company requirements.
Requirements
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), PTLLS/PEtLLS or equivalent recognised teaching/training qualification.
- Previous experience delivering face-to-face training.
- Previous experience within adult social care, preferably domiciliary care.
- Good understanding of CQC requirements and safer recruitment practices.
- Confident delivering training to groups and individuals.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate training and compliance records.
- Confident using IT systems, Microsoft Office and electronic record systems.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
