We are seeking a skilled, creative and committed Support Worker to join our team at Charter Row Lifehouse, a well-established supported accommodation service in Sheffield. The service supports vulnerable men experiencing homelessness, helping them to develop confidence, independence and stability within the community. More than accommodation, Charter Row provides a safe, secure and supportive environment where every resident is valued, respected and encouraged to build a more positive future.
Key responsibilities; As a Support Worker with The Salvation Army, you will play a key role in achieving positive outcomes for residents and supporting the wider success of the service. You will deliver psychologically informed, trauma-informed support, working with residents to develop personalised support plans that promote choice, control and independence. The role involves working both independently and as part of a team to address barriers to resettlement, support harm-reduction approaches, encourage positive life choices and contribute to residents’ long-term wellbeing. You will also support the day-to-day running of the service through planned activities, administration tasks and reception duties.
The successful candidate will demonstrate; A commitment to the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army, strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills, and a person-centred approach to support. The successful candidate will also show resilience, professionalism, effective communication skills and a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
