Role: Quality and Document Controller

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-Time

About the Role:
Reporting to the Company Quality Manager, the Quality and Document Controller will manage and oversee all project quality documents and submissions for the HS2 contract. The role ensures information sent to and received from the Main Contractor is formalised, properly stored, traceable, and accessible.
In addition, you will work closely with the Company Quality Manager and the wider Quality Team to support the development and maintenance of business systems, as the organisation works towards unifying Quality processes across multiple contracts.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Document Management and Processes:
- Maintain document control systems within SharePoint, alongside contractually mandated systems, adhering to standardised procedures
- Ensure timely processing of project Quality Documents and submissions, both incoming and outgoing
- Ensure secure storage, traceability, and accessibility of all project documentation
- Maintain document and communication registers, ensuring data integrity across all platforms
- Manage and ensure compliance of metadata within Quality Documents and submissions
- Support Operational Teams in compiling Quality Documents and submissions
Compliance and Quality Checks:
- Conduct regular checks to ensure project teams are using approved and consistent documentation
- Carry out final review and approval of project documentation prior to submission to the customer
- Oversee document revision control to ensure all documentation is current and up to date
Systems Management and Development:
- Manage and maintain business systems to ensure functionality, accessibility, and compliance
- Support the development and maintenance of SharePoint sites, process automations, workflows, dashboards, and other tools to improve efficiency
- Utilise Power Automate to streamline document workflows and approvals
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint, Power Automate, Power Platform, Visio, Excel, Teams
- Experience using Common Data Environment platforms (e.g. Novade, A-Site, Viewpoint, Business Collaborator)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with a proactive, initiative-driven approach
- Excellent attention to detail
Desirable:
- Experience managing systems and supporting their development
- Experience within construction, civil engineering, or earthworks (advantageous but not essential)
