About the role
We are recruiting a Night Residential Support Worker to join our established children’s residential home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
This is a waking night role and plays a crucial part in safeguarding, stability, and consistency for our young people. You will work independently overnight while being fully supported by an experienced management team.
The role operates on a minimum 30-hour contract, with a usual 3 on / 3 off night pattern, subject to service need.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a safe, calm, and supportive environment throughout the night
- Complete regular checks in line with care plans and risk assessments
- Respond appropriately to incidents, behaviours, or emergencies
- Promote young people’s wellbeing, emotional regulation, and safety
- Maintain accurate night logs, records, and handovers
- Work in line with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Ofsted requirements, and company policies
- Communicate effectively with the wider care and management team
What we are looking for
- Experience working in children’s residential care, supported living, or a similar care environment
- Confidence working independently during night shifts
- Strong safeguarding awareness and professional boundaries
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A calm, resilient, and child-centred approach
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
