NY Highways is looking for an experienced Ganger to join our Area 5 team based in Skipton. If you've worked in highways, construction, civils or utilities and have experience leading site teams, this could be your next step. Based from our Skipton depot, this role is easily commutable from Keighley, Bradford, Colne, Burnley, Ilkley and surrounding areas.
You'll take the lead on delivering a varied programme of highway maintenance, emergency response and improvement works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

What You'll Be Doing
As Ganger, you'll lead a team of highways operatives carrying out a variety of maintenance and improvement works, including:
- Kerbing and footway repairs
- Drainage works
- Highway maintenance projects
- Traffic management operations
- Emergency and reactive repairs
- Winter maintenance activities
You'll make sure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards while supporting and motivating your team on site.

What We're Looking For
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
- Experience leading operational teams on site
- A highways maintenance qualification (Level 2) or equivalent practical experience
- Good knowledge of health and safety requirements
- Experience planning work and coordinating site activities
- A proactive approach and strong work ethic
- Highways experience preferred, but we welcome applicants from construction, utilities and groundworks backgrounds
Training can be provided for specialist qualifications including:
- Traffic Management, Safe Dig, Emergency First Aid, Banksman, Abrasive Wheels and Manual Handling
