Taking on our role of FSB Engagement Manager for Tayside is a fantastic opportunity to work for the UK’s leading business organisation leading local activity which supports member retention and recruitment whilst also representing the voice of small businesses with local politicians, stakeholders and media.
This is a varied role across several main workstreams: Commercial; Membership; Advocacy & Campaigns; Volunteer & Member support; and Media & Communications. The successful candidate will (among other things):
- Identify opportunities to generate income streams delivered through local activity.
- Work closely with the commercial and regional sales team to identify and secure sponsorship and/or other commercial opportunities that lead to recruitment and/or income generation.
- Develop a local programme of events and activities which supports member retention across the area and work alongside colleagues within the commercial team to deliver local elements of national projects.
- Develop and use local intelligence, augmented by local and national data, to identify topics for local campaigns which will raise FSB awareness among the wider business community and general public.
- Provide support and guidance to FSB volunteers throughout their journey.
- Provide briefings and guidance to FSB volunteers enabling them to represent FSB at stakeholder meetings and events.
- Create content for a range of platforms, including social media channels, member communications, website and other media.
- Working with colleagues in the Scotland office, develop strong relationships with the local media to generate broadcast, print and online coverage.
- Identify member case studies and spokespeople for local and national media as required.
- Increase audience reach and engagement, with particular regard to target markets.
In this extremely diverse position, applicants should have experience in one or more of the workstreams indicated above and will be expected to develop in others.
The Engagement Manager role requires the post holder to develop a broad range of skills across various business areas so candidates from a wide range of backgrounds will be considered, but ideally they should have an understanding of the local business environment and be able to demonstrate an ability to build strong relationships.
The role is home-based and will involve some travel in the surrounding geographical area with occasional travel to Glasgow.
You must have a full valid UK driving licence and appropriate roadworthy vehicle suitable for business use and be willing to travel to attend events and meetings.
