Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is looking for a dedicated School Nurse to join our Children and Families Service. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work autonomously and collaboratively with children, families, schools and partner agencies, delivering high-quality public health interventions and targeted support. You will play a key role in reducing health inequalities, safeguarding vulnerable children and promoting positive health outcomes within local communities. Working Pattern: Wednesday - Friday
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of school-aged children and young people, assessing needs and delivering evidence-based care

Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of targeted interventions to support health and wellbeing

Work in partnership with families, schools and multi-agency teams to coordinate support and achieve positive outcomes
-
Contribute to child protection processes and support vulnerable children and families where required
-
Promote public health initiatives and deliver programmes aimed at improving health outcomes for children and young people

Provide leadership, mentorship and support to colleagues, students and the wider school nursing team

Participate in service improvement, quality assurance, audit and development activities to enhance care delivery
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Registered Nurse with a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification or equivalent relevant professional qualification

Significant experience working with children, young people and families within community, public health or related healthcare settings

Sound knowledge of public health priorities, safeguarding principles and child wellbeing frameworks

Excellent communication, interpersonal and partnership working skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

Experience of managing complex caseloads and delivering person-centred care within a multidisciplinary environment

Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgement and prioritise competing demands effectively

Commitment to continuous professional development and delivering high-quality, evidence-based practice within a changing healthcare environment
