Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Kitchen Team Leader to oversee daily kitchen operations within a dynamic hospitality environment. Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and production in line with organisational standards.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food safety compliance, inventory management, and cleanliness.
- Assist with food preparation and cooking, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment and promoting professional development.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage supplies to minimise waste and control costs.
- Enforce health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment, including hygiene standards and safe working practices.
- Organise shift schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and supervise staff performance during service hours.
- Handle customer feedback professionally, addressing any concerns related to food quality or service promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and supervising within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Demonstrable team management skills with previous leadership or supervisory roles in a kitchen environment.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP procedures, and hygiene regulations.
- Familiarity with food production processes across various cuisines or specialised culinary techniques is desirable.
- Previous experience working in hotels or bars is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to lead a diverse team effectively and liaise with other departments.
