The Role (Please Read This First)
This is not a coordination or administrative role.
We are looking for someone who will take ownership of production flow and material readiness, ensuring that work moves through the business without delay.
You will be responsible for identifying issues before they impact delivery, challenging the status quo, and driving action across Production, Planning, Supply Chain, and Subcontract suppliers.
Located in Sandy, Bedfordshire, this role will include occasional business travel to our manufacturing sites in March, and Cambridge, and suppliers within the locality.
If you are not comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability manufacturing environment, this role is not for you.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Driving work orders through production to meet delivery requirements
- Ensuring materials are available before production needs them
- Controlling material flow from supplier → Hub → site
- Managing subcontract operations and supplier performance
- Identifying risks early and preventing late delivery
- Challenging incorrect shopfloor priorities
- Maintaining real-time visibility of job status
- Supporting daily operational meetings with clear updates
What This Role Really Involves
- Significant time on the shopfloor, not just at a desk
- Challenging priorities and having difficult conversations
- Chasing suppliers and internal teams for delivery commitments

- Owning problems through to resolution
What We Expect From You
- Experience in manufacturing (CNC machining, fabrication or similar)
- Strong understanding of production and supply chain flow
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confident communicator able to challenge at all levels
- Effective relationship builder, able to develop collaborative trust-based relationships with colleagues and suppliers
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving ability
- ERP/MRP experience preferred

Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
