Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Plasterer/Damp Proofer to join our small family run business. In this role, you will be responsible for applying plaster finishes, damp proofing solutions, and ensuring the integrity of building exteriors and interiors. Your expertise will help create durable, high-quality surfaces that meet project specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of plaster and damp proofing materials
- Apply plaster coatings accurately and efficiently to walls, ceilings, and other structures, ensuring smooth finishes and compliance with specifications
- Install damp proof membranes and barriers to prevent moisture ingress in foundations, walls, and floors
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install materials such as plasterboard, insulation, and waterproofing membranes
- Collaborate with team members to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans for precise application of materials
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met and identify areas needing touch-up or correction
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly
Skills
- Proven experience in plastering, damp proofing, and related construction activities
- Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, floats, knives, as well as power tools including drills and saws
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to working at heights or with waterproofing chemicals
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality finishes
