Piano Tutor (Self-Employed)

£20–£25 per hour
Lamp House Music is a thriving and growing music school in the heart of Haddington, teaching over 280 pupils aged 5–75 across a wide range of instruments.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and inspiring piano tutor to join our friendly team from August 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to build a regular teaching day within a busy, well-established music school, with administrative support and a steady flow of enquiries.
About the Role
- Teach both one-to-one and group piano lessons to children and adults.
- Support the development of group lessons where appropriate.
- Prepare pupils for performances and graded examinations where suitable.
- Encourage confident music reading and strong musicianship.
- Maintain lesson notes using our online system.
Teaching is primarily weekday afternoons and evenings, with some daytime opportunities available.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has strong piano performance skills (Grade 8 standard or equivalent as a minimum).
- Has teaching experience, or a genuine enthusiasm for teaching children and adults.
- Is reliable, organised and punctual.
- Enjoys helping pupils build confidence and a lifelong love of music.
- Values collaborative music-making and is willing to support group lessons, ensembles and performances.
- Holds (or is willing to obtain) PVG Scheme membership.
