What We Do
STEF Langdons delivers chilled and frozen food to almost any location across the UK and Ireland within 24 hours, supported by 12 depots and a fleet of over 500 vehicles.
The Role
As a Transport Operator, you'll play a key role in ensuring our transport operation runs smoothly and efficiently. You'll be responsible for planning driver routes, building loads and coordinating resources to ensure collections and deliveries are completed safely, cost-effectively and on time.
Working closely with drivers, customers, subcontractors and internal teams, you'll monitor transport plans, communicate updates and resolve any issues that may impact service delivery. You'll also ensure company systems and transport documentation are maintained accurately and support wider transport and customer service functions when required.
What You'll Need
- Experience working within a transport, logistics or customer-focused office environment
- Good knowledge of transport regulations and health & safety requirements
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages
- Excellent communication, organisation and planning skills
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
- Good numerical skills and attention to detail
- A proactive approach with the ability to use initiative and work as part of a team
- Level 3 Supply Chain Operator qualification (or equivalent) desirable
Available Shift Pattern
- Sunday to Thursday 14:00 - 23:30
Key Responsibilities
- Build loads and plan routes efficiently, taking account of driver restrictions and operational requirements
- Monitor plans and communicate updates to customers, drivers and colleagues
- Identify and resolve transport issues to maintain service levels
- Update company systems accurately and ensure all documentation is completed correctly
- Work closely with workshop teams to ensure vehicle availability and service schedules are met
- Provide support and cover for Customer Service and Driver Debrief functions when required
