Job Overview
The Mentor Youth Worker will lead the delivery of mentoring, alternate provision and youth programmes that support the personal, social and emotional development of young people. You will coordinate mentoring initiatives, support staff and volunteers, and build strong partnerships with schools and community organisations across Birmingham.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Delivery
- Lead and manage sports clubs and youth clubs, ensuring safe, positive and engaging environments.
- Design and deliver innovative sports and mentoring programmes for diverse age groups and abilities.
Mentoring
- Provide formal and informal mentoring to young people and youth workers.
- Support volunteers and community members to develop their coaching and youth work skills.
Educational Courses
- Develop and deliver educational courses focused on sports coaching, physical wellbeing, mental wellbeing and youth development.
- Work with local schools and colleges to integrate wellbeing and personal development into their curriculum.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Create and maintain systems to track participant progress and programme impact.
- Collect, analyse and report data to inform improvements and share outcomes with stakeholders.
Mentoring Program Development
- Lead initiatives to strengthen and expand mentoring programmes across Birmingham.
- Build relationships with schools to recruit new partners and increase programme reach.
Management & Leadership
- Oversee youth workers and coaches, providing guidance, training and ongoing support.
- Run regular team meetings to share best practice and maintain high standards.
Safeguarding
- Act as the safeguarding lead, ensuring all programmes meet safety regulations and best practice.
- Train staff on safeguarding policies and procedures, prioritising participant welfare.
Community Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, community groups and partners.
- Encourage volunteer involvement and promote Sporting Elite CIC’s community initiatives.

Pay: £18,302.40-£24,846.00 per hour
