Property Maintenance Team Member
Full-Time or Part-Time
Based in Ambleside, Lake District (No accommodation)
JRG Hospitality is looking for a reliable and practical Property Maintenance Team Member to help keep our portfolio of holiday cottages and two guesthouses in excellent condition.
This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their work, and can work independently using their own initiative.
About the Role
You will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance, repairs and preventative checks across our holiday cottages and guesthouses, ensuring they are well-presented, safe, and fully operational for guests.
No two days are the same. One day you may be fixing a dripping tap, the next delivering logs or replacing a light fitting before new guests arrive, the following day you may be painting a fence.
Key Responsibilities
- General property maintenance and repairs
- Preventative maintenance and routine inspections
- Basic plumbing, joinery, decorating, gardening and handyman tasks
- Checking and troubleshooting heating, lighting, plumbing, appliances and outdoor areas
- Delivering items to guests (such as logs, welcome hampers, or replacement equipment)
- Reporting larger issues requiring specialist contractors
What We’re Looking For
- Practical, maintenance experience
- Good all-round and neat DIY and repair skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Strong attention to detail and the drive to see jobs through to completion
- Friendly and helpful approach when dealing with guests
- Team player
- Ability to use a smartphone app
- Full UK driving licence is essential
- Flexible and dependable
Hours
- Part-time or full-time considered
- Holidays happen at holiday times so you will need to be available on busy bank holidays and one weekend day a week plus the odd evening … but some of your paid hours will be ‘on call’ so you can stay at home unless there is an emergency call out.

- Competitive salary, dependent on experience and trade qualifications
