Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Goods In Clerk to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, checking, and booking in incoming goods while ensuring stock accuracy and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. During busy periods, the role will also support picking, packing, and dispatch activities to help meet customer requirements and delivery deadlines.
Key ResponsibilitiesGoods In Duties
- Receive and unload incoming deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Check deliveries against purchase orders, delivery notes, and other relevant documentation.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report any issues promptly.
- Accurately book stock into the warehouse management system (WMS) or ERP system.
- Label and store goods in the correct warehouse locations.
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory control.
- Liaise with suppliers, purchasing teams, and warehouse colleagues regarding delivery queries.
- Ensure all goods-in paperwork is completed and filed correctly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised goods-in area.
Pick & Pack Duties
- Pick customer orders accurately according to picking lists.
- Pack products securely to company standards for shipping.
- Prepare orders for dispatch and ensure correct labelling.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure order accuracy.
- Assist with stock replenishment and stock counts where required.
- Support the wider warehouse team during peak workloads and absences.
General Warehouse Responsibilities
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and responsibly (training provided where required).
- Assist with inventory checks, stock takes, and warehouse housekeeping.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve productivity and service targets.
Skills and ExperienceEssential
- Previous experience in a warehouse, goods-in, or stock control environment.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and confidence using warehouse systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Counterbalance or Reach Truck licence.
- Experience in order picking and packing.
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures.

Pay: £28,000.00 per year
