Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled HGV Semi Skilled Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. We are looking for someone used to working on HGVS and Vans in a timely fashion.
In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of heavy goods vehicles and related equipment. Your hands-on expertise will contribute to the smooth operation of our clients fleet, keeping them moving. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your mechanical skills while working in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Vans to HGVS of all types.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to perform fabrication, assembly, and repair tasks
- Conduct welding and soldering tasks to repair or modify vehicle components
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used
- Support equipment repair projects including excavators, forklifts, and other machinery
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols
Experience
- Basic mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working with heavy vehicles or machinery
- Familiarity with fabrication, welding, soldering, and electrical systems is highly desirable
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair techniques
- Previous exposure to maintenance or repair work involving heavy machinery such as excavators or forklifts, preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow technical instructions accurately
- Excellent teamwork ethic combined with a customer-focused attitude for internal support roles

Pay: Up to £46,800.00 per year
