Job Purpose:
To perform an efficient and proactive purchasing function aligned with the operational needs and strategic objectives of the business, specifically supporting Defence, Plant, and Reman departments.
Job Duties:
- Procurement Management
- Order batteries and other required materials as requested by the DRS team.
- Manage day-to-day ordering of components and materials for the Defence, Plant, and Reman departments.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to forecast material requirements based on production plans, historical data, and project pipelines.
- Monitor stock levels and usage trends to anticipate future demand and ensure timely procurement.
- Supplier & Delivery Coordination
- Ensure timely delivery of goods by actively monitoring and chasing supplier orders.
- Resolve open purchase order issues efficiently to minimise delays.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent and reliable supply.
- MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing management of MRP systems.
- Manage MRP demand outputs to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
- Analyse MRP forecasts and collaborate with stakeholders to adjust orders where necessary.
- Inventory & Stock Movement
- Raise inventory concerns with the Repair Managers and Key Account Manager as required.
- Support and coordinate the movement of stock between company sites.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and stock control.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all relevant paperwork, including delivery notes and QHSE documentation, is accurately completed and filed.
- Maintain regular filing routines to ensure compliance and traceability.
- Administrative Support
- Perform general administrative duties and support tasks as directed by the Repair Managers or Key Account Manager.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives relating to purchasing, forecasting, and inventory management.
Requirement/Experience/Competence/Qualifications:
Essential:
· Proven experience in purchasing or supply chain administration.
· Strong ability to forecast material requirements and interpret planning data.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills.
· Strong communication skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
· Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable:
· Background in a Defence or manufacturing environment.
· Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
· Working knowledge of inventory management and forecasting tools.

Pay: From £31,000.00 per year
