Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and caring Dog Walker/Pet Sitter to provide exceptional care for our clients’ pets. This role involves taking dogs on walks, feeding, administering medication if necessary, and ensuring animals are happy, healthy, and well-exercised. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and excellent customer service skills to build trusting relationships with pet owners. This position offers flexible hours suitable for those who enjoy working outdoors and caring for animals.
Responsibilities
- Taking dogs on daily walks, ensuring they receive sufficient exercise and mental stimulation
- Feeding pets according to the owners’ instructions and maintaining feeding schedules
- Administering medication or special care as required by individual animals
- Providing companionship and attention to pets during sitting appointments
- Monitoring pet behaviour and reporting any concerns or health issues to owners promptly
- Cleaning up after pets during walks or visits to maintain hygiene standards
- Maintaining organised records of pet care activities and communicating effectively with clients regarding their pets’ wellbeing
Experience
- Previous experience in animal care, veterinary assistance, or pet sitting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where necessary.
- Driving license- ESSENTIAL
- Pet First aid and CPR trained- or willing to work towards.
- Knowledge of animal behaviour and handling techniques is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners.
- Passionate about animals with a caring attitude and a responsible approach to pet welfare.
