Sales & Customer Service
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and customer focused person to join our team. This role sits at the heart of our unique retail, digital and mail order business, combining sales, customer support and order fulfilment. You will play a key role in delivering an excellent end to end customer experience.
Working as part of a small, collaborative team, you will engage with customers across multiple channels, as well as here in our yard, support online and mail order sales, and help ensure orders including overseas shipments are processed efficiently.
Responsibilities
- First point of contact for customers via phone, email and online enquiries.
- Understand customer needs and provide tailored product recommendations and solutions.
- Support digital commerce and mail order sales, ensuring a positive buying experience.
- Process orders and payments accurately using point of sale and order management systems such as Xero, Shopify and Stripe
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat and long term business.
- Handle customer queries and any after sales issues promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate domestic and overseas freight, including advising customers on delivery times, duties and custom requirements , liaising with freight partners and preparing shipping documentation.
- Maintain a organise sales and dispatch areas ensuring products are well presented, displayed, stocked and ready for fulfilment.
- Stay informed about product features, promotions, and industry trends.
- Assist us as a company to continue to provide a personal and excellent customer service.
Experience
- E Commerce is essential. Sales experience in mail order and retail environment is desirable.
- Experience or familiarity with freight, logistics or international shipping is preferred, not essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of customers.
- A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering excellent service.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing positively to a small team.
- Confident with basic numeracy skills for processing transactions and managing stock levels.
- Experience using point-of-sale systems, order management software, or similar digital tools is an advantage.
