Role Purpose:
To provide efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions; carefully prepare and process multiple monthly and four weekly payrolls under the supervision of the Management Accountant, and support additional administrative and compliance tasks to ensure the smooth running of the small head office finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger:
- Assist the team to process and reconcile invoices, payments, and supplier queries
- Maintain accurate supplier records and resolve discrepancies
Payroll:
- Prepare and process multiple payrolls working to detail checklists
- Maintain payroll records and manage employee queries
- Confidently calculate and input hourly paid holiday pay rates for each payroll period using bespoke company spreadsheets
- Ensure all payroll data is accurate and submitted within agreed deadlines
- Handle payroll deductions and any ad hoc payroll task
Petty Cash:
- Assist the team in processing and reconciling multiple petty cash accounts and records
- Liaise with home staff to ensure timely input and resolve discrepancies
General Finance Support:
- Support month-end and year-end processes
- Produce reports as required by Financial Controller
- Carry out any other ad hoc finance task as and when required
Person Specification:
- At least 2 years previous experience in finance, accounts payable and payroll
- Previous experience working in a small team with varied responsibility an advantage
- Strong experience in payroll administration
- Strong IT skills, including accounting software (Sage 50 Accounts an advantage), must have good experience especially of Excel, and additionally Google Sheets, Word and Outlook
- Detail-oriented, well organised and able to manage multiple tasks
- Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive financial data
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- AAT Level 3 or equivalent
