Job Description: IT and Tech Support Technician

Role Overview: The ideal candidate will be a good cultural fit aligned to company values (Customer Obsessed, Agile, Relentless) and have hands-on experience in an IT support or technical support role, ideally within a manufacturing or multi-site business. They should feel comfortable being the first point of contact for a wide range of technical queries — from customer-facing card printer support through to internal IT liaison and software support for chip card encoding. The candidate needs a proactive, detail-driven approach, a genuine curiosity for how systems and hardware work, and the confidence to work independently while liaising with outsourced IT providers, third-party software developers, and customers alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing customer queries and providing support relating to card printer optionation, servicing and repair
- Gaining thorough knowledge of the company's IT infrastructure and, whilst IT services and maintenance are outsourced, ensuring IT is set up optimally for each employee, acting as the main point of liaison with the outsourced IT provider
- Being available to support general IT-related tasks and queries across the business
- Handling general tech-related tasks using project management software
- Gaining an understanding of how RFID chip cards are encoded using DLL (Dynamic Link Library) software, and checking that software is correctly configured prior to orders commencing
- Acting as the main point of assistance for all software-related matters relating to chip card encoding
- Assisting third-party software developers in gaining access to internal machines to install and test software
