Job description
We are currently looking for a Trainee CNC Machinist to join our team and strengthen our workforce for the future. The candidate should already have a NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering subject and have some experience operating and setting CNC milling machines, preferably with FANUC controls. We are looking for an enthusiastic, bright, enquiring and hard-working individual who is willing to test themselves on a daily basis in an extremely diverse and technical environment.
Due to the nature of the industries we are involved with full BPSS checks would need to be carried out and compliance with cyber security would be mandatory.
Key responsibilities include:
- Initially working with our fully skilled machininsts to Learn how to set and machine very large complex one off components on our multi-million-pound CNC gantry milling machines. Whilst gradually gaining the experience to work under your own initiative.
- Setting and measuring the tooling used on the CNC machines.
- Learning to operate our large overhead cranes, which can lift up to 50 tonnes, to turn and move components. RTIB Training will be provided.
- Conform to our legislative health and safety policies.
- Understand and being able to ammend CNC programs.
- Learn new and advance existing skills in operating a Fanuc control system.
