Summary
We are looking for a friendly and diligent Driver/Porter to join our team at The Cheshire Saleroom in Macclesfield. The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training to become proficient in the tasks required to collect, process, photograph and display Antiques and Collectables for each auction cycle. This a dual role primarily as driver of our consignments vehicle alongside portering requirements. The saleroom is a fast-paced working environment which requires flexibility and adaptability.Because the historic and modern items that we sell are vast and diverse, no two days are the same and there is always something new to see and experience. We take great care with the items entrusted to us for auction and aim to provide the best service and journey for our customers. The Role:
- Monday-Friday, 09:00-17:30
- Immediate start (if possible)
- Pay dependant on experience
- Based in Macclesfield
- Free on site parking
- Free lunch on auction days
Duties will include:
- Assisting customers with collections. Please note that this will include heavy lifting.
- Photograph furniture, garden antiques and other historic items to specific standards
- Overseeing incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring safe & correct storage of items
- Picking and packing purchased lots for dispatch
- Liaising with the wider company teams to ensure smooth day to day running of sale/store room
- Stock management
- General portering duties and other tasks to support the auctioneers, valuers and admin team.
- Operating online bidding platforms on sale days
Musts:
- Ability to drive, with travel to other company sites nationally required.
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent customer service skills and computer confident.
- Analytical and proactive, with an ability to prioritise.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Required: Full UK driving licence/Commercial driving/Delivery driver experience.
Preferred: Customer service/warehouse experience.
Pay: From £24,785.00 per year
