Overview
Sheffield Service Centre Ltd are a busy, family run business currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Vehicle Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles with a focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with various tools, and the ability to interpret schematics. We are a class 4 & 7 MOT testing centre and your MOT license is preferred but not essential. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on a variety of vehicles, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
- Utilise schematics and technical manuals to identify faults and execute precise repairs.
- Perform maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake replacements, tyre fitting, and fluid top-ups.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialised machinery to carry out assembly and repair work.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or replacements efficiently.
- Assist with vehicle assembly or reassembly processes as required.
- Conduct heavy lifting of vehicle components or parts safely and in accordance with health & safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read and interpret schematics effectively.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised machinery.
- Experience with vehicle assembly, maintenance, equipment repair, and general diagnostics.
- Familiarity with vehicle electrical systems and electronic diagnostics is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and work documentation.
- Prior experience providing exceptional customer service is advantageous but not essential.

Pay: £38,640.00-£40,560.00 per year
