Didcot Barramundi Swimming Club is a friendly, ambitious and competitive SwimMark-accredited club with approximately 150 swimmers. We have a strong track record of developing swimmers across all levels, from Academy beginners through to Regional, National and Masters competitors, and pride ourselves on consistently outperforming expectations.
As part of our continued development, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Level 2 Swimming Coach to join our coaching team and help drive the next phase of the club’s growth and success.
The Role
Working closely with the Head Coach and wider coaching team, you will help plan, deliver and evaluate swimming sessions that support swimmer progression across the club.
You will contribute to the delivery of the club’s training programme, working with swimmers of different ages and abilities in line with their development pathways. Your role will include supporting technical development, attendance at some club sessions and competitions, and assisting with broader coaching and club development activities as required.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious coach looking to further develop their coaching experience within a supportive and performance-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality coaching sessions
- Support swimmer development across all levels within the club
- Work collaboratively with the Head Coach on club development and culture initiatives
- Provide coaching support and constructive feedback at competitions
- Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, coaches and committee members
- Contribute positively to the club environment and long-term development
- Use modern coaching methods and technology to enhance swimmer performance
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a coach who is:
- Swim England Level 2 Coach qualified (or equivalent)
- Swim England or STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualified (or equivalent)
- NPLQ, NRASTC or STA Safety Award qualified, or willing to undertake qualification if successful
- Passionate about swimmer development and long-term athlete progression
- Ambitious and keen to continue developing their coaching career
- Energetic, organised and reliable
- Confident working with swimmers of mixed ages and abilities
- A strong communicator and positive team contributor
- Up to date with modern coaching practices and performance tools
